Holiday Inn To Launch UK Prom Packages

Holiday Inn To Launch £18 Prom PackageParents are set to shell out over £31m on US-style high school prom celebrations for their children in the next 12 months.

New research carried out by Holiday Inn now plan to cash in on the new trend by launching a special ‘prom package’ for teens. At £18 per person, the package will venue hire, a glass of champagne, a finger buffet and a disco.

The £18 price-tag is based on the age of the party-goers and the hotel chain says it is helping to make proms more affordable after it was revealed that the average cost of preparing for a prom is £244 per person, with one in ten teenagers spending over £500.

Holiday Inns at Manchester Airport, Brighton-Seafront, Leeds Brighouse and Leeds Wakefield, are set to offer the prom packages.

Holiday Inn spokesman Tom Rowntree, said: “Over the past year alone we’ve seen a 500% increase in prom bookings at our hotels and each year they become more extravagant.”

“It’s a time when students are waving goodbye to one era and starting a new one so we’ve introduced the Holiday Inn package from just £18 to give them a night to remember.”

Holiday Inn, which belongs to the InterContinental Hotels Group, released the research carried out by OnePoll, as it plans to take the pressure off parents.
