Hotels.com Improve Loyalty Scheme

Hotels.com Welcome RewardsHotels.com launched their loyalty scheme called ‘Welcome Rewards’ over a year ago, aimed at giving you a free nights stay for for every ten you book via their website.

After you accumulate 10 nights at a qualifying Welcome Rewards property Hotels.com give you a free night at a property valued up to the average daily rate of your 10 night stays.

Whether it’s a swanky boutique hotel in New York or a romantic little place in Paris is up to you.

You don’t have to make all you bookings in one go and originally the loyalty programme allowed you to spread them across 12 months which made it accessible and realistic to a large number of people, however Hotels.com have now gone one step further!

Hotels.com have removed their 12 month booking timeframe restriction meaning that you can build up your qualifying night over an unlimited time. This means this programme should be beneficial to every person who ever stays in a hotel

But is the Hotels.com Loyalty programme really any good? Tara Evans from This is Money says:

This scheme seems to be unique and the first of its kind. But as with all loyalty or reward schemes they are only worthwhile if you use them to your advantage.

Don’t be tempted to spend more days away in order to accumulate your free day, that means you will be spending money that you weren’t going to before.

Also make sure that you’re getting the cheapest price on your accommodation, rather than using Hotels.com just to take part in the offer.

It’s a good scheme for those who regularly use the website and it could be good for those booking trips for families or groups.

Next we’d like to see TopTable follow suit and allow you users to amas points over an unlimited time so more people can benefit from free meals!
