More Hotels Start Offering Self Check-in

Yotel Self Check InAs more and more of us get used to Self Check-in when booking our air travel, hotel’s have seen this as a viable option of reducing costs and reducing queues at hotel receptions.

Yotel, the new concept in airport hotels that opened in June 2007 offering small but luxurious hotel rooms at affordable prices based on both Japanese capsule hotels and first class airplane cabins, have already roled out the Self Check-in system at Yotel Gatwick airport.

A haven of calm within a 7-square-metre space, accommodation inside Yotel Heathrow Terminal 4, just moments walk from check-in and arrivals is extremely popular with UK holiday and business travellers alike.

Each room offers luxury bedding, a rejuvenating monsoon rain showers, relaxing mood lighting, a flat-screen plasma TVs (23-inch in premium and 20-inch in standard) and a work station with free Wi-Fi internet access.

As the Yotel chain continues to increase in popularity, Simon Woodroffe, Founder of Yo!, has his sights set on New York adding to Yotel Gatwick, Yotel Heathrow and Yotel Schiphol. Yotel, the iPOD of the hotel industry plans to bring affordable luxury to New York just minutes walk away from Times Square, located at 42nd Street and 10th Avenue.

The New York installation will be full-service, complete with a restaurant, spa, meeting rooms, a club lounge and the largest outdoor terrace space for an NYC hotel. As for the rooms, they’re planned to be twice the size of Yotel’s normal airport capsule rooms.
